The sixth annual FROM SCIENCE TO BUSINESS Forum will take place May 16-18, 2012 in St. Petersburg, Russia. This year’s iteration is entitled “The Commercialization of High-Tech: The experience of the regions and the role of higher educational institutions,” and provides a unique arena for collaboration between business leaders, government representatives and the research community.

FROM SCIENCE TO BUSINESS brings together principal actors from East and West, allowing the evaluation of past experience and the formulation of new agreements and contracts, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships between business, science, education and governments, and making a practical contribution to the strategic development of the innovation economy in Russia.

Program highlights will include:

  • The Role of Higher Educational Institutions and Scientific Research Institutes in the National Innovation Ecosystem;
  • Technoparks and Innovative Technology Commercialization;
  • Intellectual Property Regulation and Management;
  • Patent Clearance Issues When Launching New Goods and Services;

The forum will pay particular attention to open innovations, foresight and green technologies. It will address issues concerning the development of human resources for the innovation community, will focus on the creation of effective organizations for the support of innovative enterprise and will assess the current situation, issues, and development trends affecting higher educational institutions and scientific research institutes.
