Mobile VASThe Mobile VAS & Apps Conference, the premier mobile industry forum in Eastern Europe held every year since 2003, will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia on Nov. 21 and 22. The central purpose of the conference is to provide an informal environment for meaningful person-to-person communication to promote business networking.

Now in its 10th year, the 2013 Mobile VAS & Apps Conference will take place at the Corinthia Hotel St. Petersburg and will include a Mobile Trends Forum for the first time, which will be a series of focus sessions exploring the key trends and drivers of the mobile industry.

The event is intended for all those who wish to develop strategy, those who are facing an important investment policy choice, those who want to meet some of the best exponents of the Russian and international mobile business community in person and what the future holds for the mobile industry.

The conference will be conducted in both Russian and English with translation provided.

Also at the conference, the 2013 Russian Mobile Awards will be handed out. The awards recognize the best mobile projects and products of the year created in Russia or elsewhere in the CIS. The central purpose of the Awards is to map out directions and landmarks for business, and give a fresh impetus to the mobile industry overall.

Awards will be given out in six categories: Best Mobile Game, awarded for the best game for mobile OS; Best Application, awarded for the best non-game app for mobile OS; Best Mobile Service, awarded for the best mobile service (B2B or B2C); Best SMS Service, awarded for the best completed SMS service or campaign; Best Payment Service, awarded for the best mobile service for online or offline payments; and Best Startup, for the mobile project of highest promise.

Scheduled speakers at the Mobile VAS & Apps Conference include Samsung Russia’s Alexey Pronichev, Qualcomm Europe’s Bernd Schulze of Qualcomm Europe, MasterCard Europe’s Dmitri Tartyshev, Almaz Capital’s Pavel Bogdanov and Microsoft’s Romuald Zdebskiy, among many others.
