Julia Khitrova is VP of Sales and Marketing at Speech Technology Center, Russia. She received a master’s degree in engineering and then turned to marketing and finance in the hi-tech sector. She decided to leave her promising career at a public research institute in St. Petersburg after the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991 and jumped into Russia’s emerging business sector. After short stints with various companies, Ms. Khitrova joined Speech Technology Center Limited in St. Petersburg in 1992. The company develops digital video and audio recorders, multichannel voice recorders for call centers, speech signal analyzers, and units that filter out noise and enhance speech. It was founded in 1990 and has offices in five countries.
Ms. Khitrova is responsible for sales and business development, is a member of the board of directors of Speech Technology Center and the Russian Speech Technology consortium. She is also a member of the board of education at St. Petersburg State University and co-editor of the ISO/IEC international standard on voice biometrics.
