Infotecs, a Russian developer of cryptographic software, has announced the expansion of its operations to northwestern Russia with the opening of an office in St. Petersburg, Cnews reports. The company’s key technology is ViPNet, which allows organizations to build virtual networks between a large number of distant locations. The company produces more than 50 different products based on this technology, offering both software and hybrid hardware-software solutions.

Currently, Infotecs employs about 500 information security experts working in Moscow and Khabarovsk. The company also has representative offices in Ufa, Saratov and Krasnodar. The decision to open an office in St. Petersburg, said the company, is due to growing demand for ViPNet products and solutions in the region. The new office will oversee the establishment and maintenance of contacts, government and business relationships in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region as well as strengthening cooperation with current partners while seeking new opportunities.

“Our company is rapidly developing and attracting customers in various regions,” said Infotecs CEO Andrei Chapchaev. “We have the set goal of increasing the company’s market share by offering customers easy to manage products and solutions. Our company invests significantly in researching information security measures and the development of new and current products. Opening a representative office in St. Petersburg is the next step in the company’s evolution and growing an affiliate network in the region.”
